Air Asia

It's incredible, and it may be responsible for rapidly depleting my per diem savings... Malaysia is home to the (self-proclaimed) best budget airline in the world, offering flights all over this region for reasonable prices, with a reasonable expectation of not imploding mid-flight. The seats are plush, there's food on the flight, attendants wear matching uniforms, and despite quite a bit of turbulence and an unfortunately bumpy ending, we made it to Kuala Lumpur for the weekend safely.

Our objectives for Malaysia were easily met. Eat, drink, and be merry in this cosmopolitan, glamorous capital. The shots below of Chinatown and the central market, are reflective of the grittier KL, not the Golden Triangle streets of designer boutiques and record-breaking skyscrapers. Kuala Lumpur has both. The pictures also seem hazier than I remember the city being, but our room did have an ionizer, never a good sign for environmental health.
